Federal Budget includes Energy Efficiency Initiatives

The Bridgeford Group team welcome the energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives in the recent Federal Budget announcement. Some of the important steps and programs announced included:

  • $62.6M to support small and medium enterprises with energy efficient upgrades and works
  • $15.2M to develop a National Energy Performance Strategy
  • $4.6M to expand the Greenhouse & Energy Minimum Standards scheme and improve the National House Energy Rating program

Although only early, the above funding announcements will play a large role in making our homes and businesses more energy efficient, allow consumers to make energy efficient choices, and continue to reduce our overall emissions.

“We believe it is a great thing that there is support and funding to help businesses move towards more sustainable and efficient uses of energy. It is something that hasn’t been supported as much previously, but this is a great step for Australian business and industry.” Says Nick Tassi, Bridgeford Group’s Managing Director.

There is still a lot to play out and programs that need to be developed, but we are hopeful that this is just the start. We also see opportunities for further growth in energy efficiency and sustainability within some of the other budget announcements, including the housing package and the Powering the Regions Fund.” Nick said.
